Riverside County Inmate Locator, Jail Roster & Family Action Guide
Use this page to find someone in a Riverside County jail, understand the booking result, call the correct facility, schedule a visit, send mail, deposit money, handle property, check court dates, and avoid common mistakes that delay help.
Start Here: What Are You Trying to Do?
| Searcher need | Use this official route | Have ready | Do not miss |
|---|---|---|---|
| Find an inmate now | Riverside Sheriff Inmate Information System | Booking number, or last name plus first name / DOB / sex if available. | The locator itself warns its data should not be relied on for legal action. |
| Find booking number | Search Inmate | Correct legal spelling. Try fewer fields first if no result appears. | Booking number is needed for mail, money order, property, and many phone calls. |
| Check court date | Sheriff Offender Court Calendars and Riverside Superior Court Calendars | Name, booking number, case number, court location, next court date. | Court portal information is not the official certified court record. |
| Ask about bail / release | Check inmate detail, then call the listed facility or court clerk. | Booking number, case number, bail amount, charge list, court date. | Charges are accusations, not convictions. Bail and release status can change fast. |
| Schedule a visit | Call the facility visiting number from 9 AM to 5 PM. | Inmate name, booking number, facility, visitor ID, desired date. | Visits are usually scheduled one day before the desired visiting date. |
| Send letter | Use the mail section below. | Inmate full name, booking number, sender full name, sender return address. | Most letters go to Jailhouse Mail in Clearfield, Utah, not the jail address. |
| Deposit money | Access Corrections, phone deposit, lobby kiosk, or U.S. Postal Money Order. | Inmate full name and booking number. | Cash/personal checks are not accepted by mail. |
| Pick up property | Call the jail where the inmate is housed. | Your ID; inmate must sign property withdrawal slip. | Property pickup is limited; clothing and money are handled separately. |
Important: An arrest or booking does not mean guilt. Records can be incomplete, delayed, sealed, corrected, transferred, or changed by court action. Use official Sheriff and court sources before making legal, employment, housing, or safety decisions.
How to Search the Riverside County Jail Roster
What the official locator asks for
- Booking number, or
- Last name, which is mandatory for name search
- First name if known
- Date of birth if known
- Sex / gender field if needed
Start with the official Sheriff locator
Open the Riverside Sheriff Inmate Information System. Do not begin on paid lookup sites, arrest-blog pages, or mugshot reposting sites.
Search with less information first
Use last name and first name. If the name is common, add DOB or sex. If no result appears, try spelling variations, hyphenated names, middle names, or the booking number.
Open the booking detail
Look for booking number, arrest date/time, arresting agency, case number, bail amount, current facility, housing unit, next court date/time, court name, release date, and charges.
Save the booking number
Use the booking number for mail, money orders, property questions, court calendar searches, facility calls, and attorney/family coordination.
Riverside County Jail Facilities, Phones, Addresses & Local Area
Riverside County uses multiple jail facilities. Searchers often call the wrong jail because the roster may show an old name, facility alias, or transfer. Always confirm the current facility in the inmate locator before visiting, mailing, or depositing money.

How to Read an Inmate Search Result
| Roster field | What it means | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| Booking number | The jail-system identifier for that booking event. | Write it down. Use it for mail, money, property, and facility calls. |
| Current facility | Where the person is listed as housed now. | Call that jail before visiting because transfers can happen. |
| Housing unit | Internal jail housing information. | Do not rely on this for visit entry unless staff confirms it matters. |
| Case number | Criminal case or agency case reference. | Use it when searching Riverside Superior Court records. |
| Bail amount | May show dollar amount, “No Bail,” or other status. | Confirm with facility/court before paying or arranging bond. |
| Next court date / court name | Upcoming appearance information when available. | Check Sheriff offender court calendar and Superior Court calendar. |
| Release date | May show a release date if posted. | Call facility before planning pickup; release processing can take time. |
| Charges | Statute/charge descriptions and disposition codes may appear. | Treat as accusation/status data, not proof of guilt or final outcome. |
No result? The person may not be booked yet, may have been released, transferred, listed under a different spelling, booked under a different name, sealed from public view, or held by another city/county/state/federal agency.
