Jail Inmate Search Safety and Legal Notice
Please read this before relying on any inmate search, jail roster, booking, charge, bond, court or release information. Public records can be delayed, incomplete, corrected or misunderstood.
Arrest is not conviction
A person may appear in a jail roster or inmate search because they were booked, detained, held for another agency, transferred, awaiting court, serving a sentence or listed for administrative reasons. A booking, charge, warrant, bond amount, mugshot or custody record does not prove guilt. The presumption of innocence applies unless and until a court determines otherwise.
Records can change quickly
Jail records can update minute by minute. A person may be released, transferred, booked under a different spelling, held under a different agency, moved to court, bonded out, hospitalized, moved to state custody or removed from a public roster. Court dates can also change. Bond amounts may change. Charges may be amended, dismissed or resolved later.
Before taking action, call the official jail, sheriff, court, corrections office or attorney. This is especially important before travelling, sending money, posting bond, mailing items, arranging visits or relying on a release date.
