Clark County, NV Jail Inmate Search & Roster 2026

Clark County, Nevada · CCDC custody and family action guide

Clark County Detention Center Booking Lookup: Custody, Bail, Visits, Mail & Calls

A Clark County inmate search can be confusing because Las Vegas-area arrests do not all go to the same jail. The official CCDC search covers people currently in Clark County Detention Center custody, while the City of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson operate separate detention systems.

This guide brings the important county rules into one page: how to identify the correct jail, search by name or ID, understand charges and bail, handle a missing result, schedule a visit, send money or mail, set up calls, check court information and respond to release or transfer.

Verify identity and custody before taking action: Clark County states that its online information is updated periodically and may change. Charges can also change as a case moves through hearings, plea negotiations or trial. Do not identify a person from a name alone or treat a booking charge as proof of guilt.

Most important first step

Make sure you are searching the right Las Vegas-area jail

A failed Clark County search often is not a spelling problem. It can simply mean the arresting agency is using a different detention facility.

Clark County Detention Center

Phone: 702-671-3900

Search here for people currently in CCDC custody and associated Clark County detention housing.

Las Vegas City Jail

Phone: 702-229-6444, option 3

A city-level Las Vegas arrest can be held outside CCDC depending on jurisdiction and charge.

North Las Vegas

Phone: 702-633-1400

North Las Vegas maintains its own Community Correctional Center and offender search.

Henderson Detention Center

Phone: 702-267-5245

Henderson arrests may remain in Henderson’s separate detention system.

Quick jurisdiction test: Ask which police department made the arrest. If it was LVMPD, CCDC is often the correct place to begin, but the official county guidance notes that custody can depend on arrest location and jurisdiction.

What the Clark County jail search result tells you

The county result can show much more than a name. Read it as a working custody record and use the court system to verify the legal case.

CCDC inmate-search fields decoded
Search field What it means Practical use
Inmate ID CCDC’s identification number for the inmate. Save it for mail, deposits, service accounts and calls to the jail.
Name / age / race / sex Identity descriptors associated with the custody record. Use several descriptors together to avoid a same-name mistake.
Case The court case connected with the listed charge. Copy it for Justice Court or District Court case research.
Charge The allegation presently attached to that case. Check the court record because charges can be modified as the case progresses.
Status The current status of the charge or custody entry. Do not assume status equals final case outcome.
Related case Another case associated with the same matter or defendant. Check every related case before evaluating release.
Arrest date Date associated with the arrest entry. Helps distinguish a current arrest from information you already knew about.
Detainer Another legal authority may have an interest in continued custody. Ask whether the detainer will prevent release after local bail is satisfied.
Cash bail Cash-bail amount presently shown for the case. Verify all cases and the $50 filing fee before paying.
Surety bail Surety-bond information connected with the case. Confirm the current court requirements before contacting a bond company.
Housing Current detention housing assignment. Housing can change; confirm before relying on it for a visit.
Scheduled department / action / date / time Upcoming court or case-processing information shown by the system. Cross-check with the court record because scheduling can change.
Do not treat charges as convictions: Clark County expressly warns that charges may change because of plea bargaining, preliminary hearings, grand-jury proceedings and trial activity.

The person may be in protective custody Protective-custody inmates are excluded from the public search. Call CCDC rather than repeatedly changing spellings.
The record was visible and then disappeared The person may have been released, transferred or moved to another agency. Call with the inmate ID and case number.
Useful phone script “I am trying to confirm whether [full legal name], date of birth [date], is currently in Clark County custody. What happens after booking into Clark County Detention Center?

Identification and inmate ID CCDC assigns an inmate identification number. The current inmate handbook explains that this ID is used for property, kiosks, tablet functions and other jail services.
Property, account and intake processing Personal property and funds are processed according to detention rules. Money later deposited to the inmate trust account should always use the correct inmate ID.
Pretrial review Pretrial Services may screen a detainee for release options. Bail, own-recognizance release or electronic monitoring depends on case and court circumstances.
Initial Appearance Court Clark County says most people who remain in custody are scheduled for Initial Appearance Court within approximately 12 to 24 hours after arrest.
Housing or North Valley assignment Classification, security, medical needs, court status and jail operations can affect where a person is housed.
Release, local sentence or transfer The handbook says sentences of one year or less may be served at CCDC/North Valley. A sentence longer than one year generally leads to Nevada Department of Corrections transfer after outstanding local matters are resolved.

Trust account and commissary

How to send money to a Clark County inmate safely

The fastest county-listed route is TouchPay. Before depositing anything, have the inmate’s exact name, inmate ID and facility number 289101.

CCDC inmate-fund methods
Method What you need Important rule
TouchPay online Facility #289101, inmate name and inmate ID. Verify identity carefully; deposited trust funds are not refundable.
TouchPay phone Call 1-866-232-1899 with the same facility and inmate information. Confirm the inmate before finalizing the transaction.
CCDC lobby kiosk Cash and correct inmate information. The county specifically recommends the kiosk rather than mailing cash.
Money order by mail Payable to CCDC Inmate Trust Account; inmate name and ID in memo line. Mailed checks/money orders can be subject to a 10-business-day hold.
No refunds after deposit: Clark County says once funds are deposited into an inmate account, the transaction is not refundable. CCDC is also not liable when the remitter places funds into the wrong inmate account.

Mailing funds

Address:
Inmate Name – Inmate ID Number
Clark County Detention Center
PO Box 43059
Las Vegas, NV 89116

Money orders must be in U.S. currency and payable to CCDC Inmate Trust Account. Put the inmate’s name and ID number on the memo line. Personal checks, two-party checks and foreign-bank checks are not accepted.

Posting speed: Clark County says TouchPay transactions post within 24 hours and generally within about 15 minutes. If a TouchPay search does not find the inmate, try entering the inmate ID without leading zeroes.

Inmate fund-release rules

  • An inmate in permanent housing may generally release funds to a legitimate business or legal entity.
  • During booking, an inmate may have broader fund-release options under facility procedures.
  • Most legitimate-business releases can involve a 24-hour hold; certain bail, court or attorney releases may be treated differently.
  • The person collecting an authorized check must have valid government-issued photo identification.
  • CCDC does not permit ordinary inmate-to-inmate fund transfers.

Updated June 2026

CCDC phone calls, messages and tablet funding

Clark County uses ViaPath Technologies for inmate communication. A major funding change took effect June 1, 2026, so older instructions telling family members to deposit directly into an inmate Phone/PIN Debit account can now be outdated.

TouchPay commissary account

Beginning June 1, 2026, family and friends can place funds into the inmate’s TouchPay commissary account for available telephone and tablet services.

My Messaging Account

GettingOut provides a messaging account for eligible services such as messages, photographs and e-cards.

AdvancePay

GettingOut AdvancePay is used for prepaid calls and, effective June 1, 2026, remote video-visit funding.

Items that can cause mail to be rejected

Cards and decorations

No greeting cards, postcards, glitter, rhinestones, stickers or glued-on items.

Blank supplies

No blank envelopes, blank paper, stationery or postage stamps.

Paper restrictions

No cardstock or colored paper.

Foreign substances

No lipstick, perfume, glitter, crayon, paint, glue, tape, correction fluid, metallic ink or wet/smeared substances.

Money and financial items

No coins, casino chips, credit cards or checkbooks in ordinary correspondence.

Security-related material

Material that creates a safety, escape, contraband or facility-security concern may be rejected.

Photographs: use standard 4 × 6 prints

Practical photo-size tip: Clark County’s published mail page contains inconsistent photo-size wording—one section describes accepted photographs up to 8 × 6 while another prohibited-items section says photographs smaller or larger than 4 × 6 are not allowed. To minimize rejection risk, use ordinary 4 × 6 prints and avoid Polaroids or sexually explicit images.

Books, magazines and newspapers

CCDC permits qualifying magazines, soft-covered books and newspapers when they are sent directly from the publisher or a commercial dealer and the shipment identifies the contents. Pornographic and sexually suggestive publications are prohibited.

Do not send legal mail to the PO Box: Attorney/legal correspondence, official documents and qualifying publications use the physical CCDC address at 330 S. Casino Center Boulevard rather than the ordinary social-mail PO Box.
Court and legal help

Check the Clark County criminal case, court date and public defender

Jail data answers a custody question. Court records answer the legal question: which court controls the case, what happened at the last hearing, what is scheduled next and whether bail or release conditions changed.

Copy every case number from the CCDC result A person may have multiple Justice Court or District Court matters. Search each number separately.
Start with Las Vegas Justice Court for early criminal proceedings Initial appearances, preliminary matters and many local criminal case actions begin in Justice Court.
Check District Court when the case has moved forward Felony cases can proceed to the Eighth Judicial District Court. Use the District Court record search for the current docket and filings.
Verify the scheduled time close to court Court departments, dates and times can change. The inmate search may show scheduled information, but the court record is the better legal-status source.
Contact counsel instead of jail staff for legal advice The CCDC handbook states that detention staff cannot give legal advice.

Public Defender scope: Clark County’s Public Defender represents qualifying people who cannot afford counsel in covered state-court matters. Municipal Court cases use their own appointed-counsel procedures, so a City of Las Vegas or other municipal case may require contacting that Municipal Court instead.

Inmate law-library access

The November 2025 inmate handbook says inmates may submit legal-library requests and generally are limited to two requests per week and a maximum of 25 pages per response. Requests are generally returned within 72 working hours, excluding weekends, holidays and staff-development periods.

Copy charge

The handbook lists legal-library copies at $0.25 per page.

Indigent access

An indigent inmate is not denied necessary legal copies solely because of inability to pay; an account obligation may be created.

Indigent legal supplies: The handbook describes an indigent legal kit that can include one writing tablet per month, one pen per month and three manila envelopes per month.
Health and inmate rights

CCDC medical requests, fees, grievances and PREA reporting

Current inmate medical fees

The November 2025 handbook states that inmates will not be refused in-house medical treatment because they cannot pay, although a financial obligation can accrue.

Published CCDC inmate medical charges
Medical service Published fee Important detail
Medical access / sick-call type service $8 The inmate handbook lists an $8 medical-access fee.
New non-chronic medication order $5 Applies under the handbook’s medication-fee schedule.
Renewal of non-chronic medication $3 Published renewal charge.
Care is not denied for inability to pay: The handbook states that an inmate will not be refused in-house treatment solely because funds are unavailable.

How the grievance process works

Try informal resolution first when appropriate The handbook directs inmates to begin many routine concerns with the housing officer.
Escalate to the floor sergeant When informal resolution fails, the inmate may seek review through the supervisory process.
Submit a formal grievance through ViaPath Formal grievances are available through the inmate tablet/kiosk grievance function.
Use one issue per grievance The handbook directs inmates to keep each formal grievance focused on one topic so it can be investigated properly.
Appeal through the next level when necessary A grievance response can be appealed according to the facility grievance hierarchy.
Report emergencies immediately A health or safety emergency should be brought directly to staff rather than waiting for normal grievance processing.

Continuing a grievance after release or transfer

A person released or transferred before a grievance or appeal is completed may request continuation. Clark County says the request must reach the facility within seven days of release or transfer.

PREA / sexual abuse reporting

CCDC maintains zero-tolerance procedures for sexual abuse and sexual harassment. An inmate may report concerns verbally or in writing to staff, medical or mental-health staff, contractors or volunteers; use the grievance system; or use the confidential inmate-phone reporting method.

Clark County house arrest and electronic monitoring basics

CCDC’s Electronic Monitoring Program is an alternative to serving qualifying custody time inside the detention center. Eligibility is not automatic.

Basic handbook eligibility factors

Sentenced to CCDC by the court
Acceptable verified residence
Landline or activated cellular telephone
No court order prohibiting electronic monitoring

Factors that can make someone ineligible

  • Open charges, detainers or warrants.
  • Extensive violent or criminal history.
  • Crimes of a sexual nature.
  • Current or recent Battery Domestic Violence charges unless the court orders otherwise.
  • Negative jail behavior or other program concerns.
Do not repeatedly ask staff to “put someone on house arrest”: The handbook says eligible inmates are provided an application when they meet minimum screening requirements and warns that unnecessary requests can slow the process.

While on electronic monitoring

  • The participant must wear the GPS ankle device for the entire program period.
  • Verified employment and an approved work schedule may be allowed.
  • Medical appointments require verification and prior approval under program rules.
  • Violations can result in return to CCDC.
  • Program payments are not necessarily refunded after a violation.

Need proof of incarceration? Request a CCDC incarceration letter

Clark County provides an official process for requesting a letter documenting incarceration. This can be useful for an employer, landlord, benefits office, attorney or another institution that needs official custody verification.

Prepare the inmate information Have the person’s full legal name and any available inmate ID or identifying information.
Send the request to Records Clark County directs incarceration-letter requests to dsdrsuc@lvmpd.com.
Provide a delivery method Include a valid email address or mailing address so the completed letter can be sent.
If email is unavailable Clark County says the requester may notify CCDC lobby staff for assistance with the process.
Release and transfer

What to do when a Clark County inmate is being released or transferred

Bail was just paid Keep the receipt and call CCDC. Pretrial Services does not control the exact physical release time.
The online record disappeared Ask whether the person was released, moved to another Clark County location or transferred to another agency.
A detainer is shown Local release may not mean freedom from custody. Another agency may assume custody.
Sentence is longer than one year The current handbook says transfer to Nevada Department of Corrections generally follows after outstanding local charges are resolved.
Sentence is one year or less The handbook indicates the sentence may be served through CCDC or North Valley Complex.
Money remains on the inmate account Remaining commissary funds can follow an inmate to another jail or prison. A former inmate may also have procedures for retrieving remaining funds.
Release date is not guaranteed: Clark County warns that projected release information is subject to change. Court action, detainers, other charges, processing or transfer can alter the timeline.

Clark County practical tips that save families time and money

ID
Save the inmate ID immediately

It is the common identifier across mail, TouchPay deposits, service questions and many jail transactions.

J
Check jurisdiction before spelling

A missing result often means City of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas or Henderson custody—not a bad name search.

$
Read every bail line

One case with payable bail does not guarantee release if another case or detainer remains.

V
Schedule visits, then recheck

Lockdown, count, meals or emergencies can make the inmate temporarily unavailable even with a reservation.

M
Use white mail materials

White envelope, white paper and blue/black ink or pencil avoid several common CCDC rejection triggers.

4×6
Use standard photo prints

Because Clark County’s public page contains conflicting photo dimensions, standard 4 × 6 prints are the safer practical choice.

Do not expect incoming calls

An inmate cannot receive an ordinary incoming call. Use the approved phone account and CCDC emergency procedure instead.

6/1
Ignore old phone-funding instructions

The county changed family/friend telephone and tablet funding procedures effective June 1, 2026.

R
Never promise a release time

Bail payment, court action and online status do not provide a guaranteed physical exit time.
