How to search the Irving City Jail In Custody Report
Irving publishes a PDF titled “Jail In Custody Report – All Adult Inmates.” It is a roster-style report rather than a search form. Use your browser’s Find command to locate a surname quickly.
Irving jail roster fields explained
| Report field | What it means | Practical use or warning |
|---|---|---|
| Name | The name recorded during the booking process, generally surname first. | Check aliases, maiden names and compound surnames when the expected name does not appear. |
| Race, gender and age | Basic identifying details shown on the public roster. | Use as secondary identity checks, not as the sole basis for identification. |
| Booking date/time | When the person was entered into Irving’s jail system. | Compare it with the approximate arrest time and distinguish a current booking from a different person. |
| Booking number | The identifying number assigned to that booking. | Give this number to jail staff when asking about court, transfer, property or release. |
| Court: Pending | The listed matter has not yet reached the shown court event or final jail disposition. | Ask whether magistration or Dallas County arraignment is still pending. |
| Court date and time | The report may show a scheduled municipal-court event, commonly the daily 9 a.m. magistration for Irving Class C matters. | Do not assume the person will be physically released immediately after that time. |
| Charge | A shortened description of the allegation, violation or warrant. | Abbreviations may be difficult to read; use the warrant or case number when asking the court for clarification. |
| Charge level | The classification may appear as MC, MB, MA, FS, F3 or another abbreviation. | The level affects which court or agency controls magistration, bond and transfer. |
| Warrant number | The identifier associated with the warrant or criminal matter. | Keep it when contacting Irving Municipal Court or the outside issuing agency. |
| Fine amount | An amount associated with a municipal violation or warrant when applicable. | Do not pay through a general portal while the person is in custody without first calling the holding jail. |
| Bond amount | The report may display a bond amount for a listed matter. | A zero amount does not always mean free release; bond may still await magistration or another agency. |
| Warrant agency | The city, county, police department or outside authority responsible for that warrant or hold. | That agency may control payment, bond, pickup or final release. |
| Disposition | The operational status of that charge or warrant, such as pending action. | It does not mean the criminal case has reached a final court disposition. |

What “booked into Irving City Jail” means
Irving defines booking as the administrative process that documents a prisoner’s entrance into the jail. The process is more than placing the person in a holding cell.
Staff records the person’s name, address and other identifying information.
The arrest charges, warrants or alleged violations are entered into the booking record.
Personal property is documented and secured while the person remains in custody.
A photograph is taken as part of the admission process.
Fingerprints are collected during booking.
The person then waits for magistration, bond, payment, jail credit, release or transfer as applicable.
Irving magistration: charges, rights and bond
Magistration is the formal meeting between a judge and a prisoner. Irving says the judge informs the person of the charges, reads the person’s rights and advises the person of the bond amount.
| Custody matter | Published process | Family action |
|---|---|---|
| Irving Class C misdemeanor | Magistration occurs daily at 9 a.m. | Check the roster for a displayed court time, then call after the proceeding for the updated resolution. |
| Class B misdemeanor or higher | The arraignment schedule is determined by Dallas County. | Do not assume the Irving 9 a.m. municipal schedule controls the charge. |
| Outside-city warrant | The issuing jurisdiction may set its own payment, bond or pickup procedure. | Ask whether Irving can accept payment or whether the issuing agency must handle it. |
| ICE or another agency hold | The outside agency may prevent release or receive custody. | Contact the listed agency after Irving confirms transfer. |
Alias warrant vs. Capias Pro Fine warrant in Irving
An Alias warrant generally means no plea has been entered.
The individual, an attorney or a bail-bond company may post a bond. The bond is intended to secure the person’s appearance in court.
A Capias Pro Fine generally means a plea was entered but the person did not complete the court agreement.
Irving says options are generally limited to paying the fine in full or remaining in custody until enough time-served credit has been earned.
| Question | Alias warrant | Capias Pro Fine |
|---|---|---|
| Has a plea been entered? | Generally no. | Yes; the court agreement was not completed. |
| Can bond be relevant? | Yes; bond may secure a future court appearance. | Options are generally more limited. |
| Can payment resolve it? | Contact the court or jail for the available option. | Full payment may be one of the principal options. |
| Can jail credit apply? | Depends on court action and the case. | Time-served credit may resolve the amount after enough credit is earned. |
How a person may get out of Irving City Jail
Irving Class C misdemeanor warrants
Irving publishes four potential ways to resolve an Irving Class C misdemeanor warrant:
The applicable Class C fine or warrant amount may be paid in cash when permitted.
Irving lists MasterCard, Visa and Discover for qualifying in-custody Class C resolutions.
The person may be released after acquiring enough jail credit to satisfy the qualifying obligation.
A combination of jail credit and cash or credit-card payment may be used when allowed.
Class C warrant from another jurisdiction
Payment may sometimes be accepted by either the issuing agency or the City of Irving. However, Irving says most county agencies do not allow a city to accept bonds and fines for county charges. Payment may need to be made directly to the issuing agency.
Class B, Class A or felony charge
Irving directs families to contact an attorney and a bail-bond company or pay the bond at the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department Bond Desk. Confirm the current amount, all listed cases and any holds before paying.

A person can be released or transferred between the time you read the PDF and the scheduled visitation period.
Irving explicitly checks visitors for outstanding warrants before allowing entry.
Dallas County mail, deposits and visitation apply only after Dallas County actually receives custody.
Prescription medication may be accepted, but it is dispensed under jail procedures rather than handed directly to the prisoner.
Being a spouse, parent or vehicle owner does not replace the prisoner’s written authorization for releasable property.
Confirm that the holding jail receives direct notification after an in-custody Irving payment.
