- A person with a qualifying state-prison felony history needs consent from the Jail Commander or watch supervisor under California Penal Code section 4571.

General RCCC visitor rules
- No more than three visitors, including infants and children, per inmate.
- Visitors and vehicles are subject to search; visitors must pass a pat-down or metal detector.
- All visitors over 18 must show accepted photo identification.
- Minors need a parent or legal guardian with relationship proof, a certified marriage certificate if visiting a spouse, or emancipation documentation.
- Visitors released from Main Jail or RCCC within 30 days, people on parole, active work-release participants and some people with state-prison felony histories are not allowed without required approval.
- Leaving the visiting room ends the visit; re-entry is not allowed.
What may enter the visit area?
One accepted photo ID, one car key or door remote, wedding or engagement ring and medical-alert tag. For a baby: one bottle, one diaper, one blanket and wipes in a clear plastic bag.
Money, bags, strollers, car seats, carriers, belts, headwear, jackets or heavy coats when restricted, excessive jewellery, smartwatches, electronics, pens, paper, purses, pictures, lighters, cigarettes and e-cigarettes.

Money release and funds after custody
- Main Jail money releases are not processed on weekends or holidays.
- At RCCC, the inmate requests and signs a Property/Money Release form. Reviews occur Monday–Thursday; approved money can be collected at the gatehouse daily between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.
- People released from Main Jail or RCCC receive remaining account funds on a NUMI MasterCard debit card rather than cash or a cheque.

- Property releases are processed daily from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- The inmate should submit the release form before the visitor arrives.
- If the form is started at the gatehouse, extreme delay is possible and staff may suggest returning later or the next day.
- Personal property must be taken as the entire package.
- Clothing normally cannot be released unless the inmate is going to state prison.
- Essential health items not otherwise available may be accepted at the Gatehouse officer’s discretion.

Release pickup at RCCC and Main Jail
Report to the gatehouse between 4:30 and 5 a.m. The visitation page says the driver should arrive before 5 a.m. with a driver’s licence; release normally occurs between 5 and 6 a.m.
The Sheriff transports the person by bus for release at Main Jail, 651 I Street, after approximately 5:30 a.m.
