24-hour medical staffing Henrico states that medical staff are on duty 24 hours a day to address inmate medical problems.

Medical copay policy Some inmate-requested medical services carry a copayment. An inmate without money is not denied medical care because of inability to pay.

No charge for initial screening The initial booking medical screening, life-threatening emergencies and medical-staff-ordered follow-up visits are listed as no-charge services.

Mental health: Henrico also provides jail mental-health services for inmates experiencing major mental illness, suicide risk, psychotropic-medication needs or significant difficulty adapting to incarceration.
