Leon County Jail Roster, Booking Status, Bond, Visits and Court Help
If someone was recently arrested in Tallahassee or elsewhere in Leon County, start with the Sheriff’s live inmate search—not an old booking page. The county search is designed for people who are currently in the Leon County Detention Facility and can show the arrest date, custody status, charges and arresting agency.
This guide brings the practical jail rules into one place: how to find the correct person, what the result means, what to do when no record appears, how bond works, when first appearance happens, visitation rules, mail addresses, deposits, calls, medical concerns, court contacts and release questions.

Choose the fastest way to find the person
Search the last name first. Keep first name, ethnicity and gender blank for the broadest first attempt.
Use first and last name. Add ethnicity or gender only when several people have a similar name.
Search once, then call the facility if no result appears. The person may still be moving through booking or may be held elsewhere.
How to use the Leon County inmate search correctly
What a Leon County jail roster result actually tells you
Leon County’s result page is especially useful because it separates current custody from older arrest information. The county cautions that the information is booking data, not the final outcome of the criminal case.
| Result field | What it means | What you should do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Photo | Booking image associated with the displayed record. | Never rely on the image alone; compare name and arrest information. |
| Full name | Name under which the booking is recorded. | Check spelling, suffix and middle-name differences. |
| Last arrest date | Most recent arrest date connected with the displayed record. | Compare it with the date you expected the arrest to occur. |
| Last release date | Last recorded release date where applicable. | Do not confuse an older release date with current release status. |
| In Jail? | Indicates whether the person is presently shown in custody. | Call the facility before pickup, bond or travel if status is changing. |
| Charge(s) | Booking charges associated with the custody record. | Use court records to determine later filing, amendment or disposition. |
| Arresting agency | Agency responsible for the arrest. | Useful when determining where an arrest started or requesting reports. |
