Choose the fastest Brevard County inmate-search method
Start with the last name. Add the first name only if needed. Do not immediately add dates if you are unsure of the exact booking day.
Use the Subject Number field. This can separate the person from others with similar names and is worth saving after you find a match.

The Sheriff’s Office says public-record requests require research and exemption review and cannot necessarily be completed the same day.

What happens after someone is booked into the Brevard County Jail Complex?
The Jail Complex is more than a single housing building. BCSO says it includes booking, inmate housing, an infirmary, kitchen, laundry, courtrooms, visitation areas, recreation areas, offices and support functions.
How to bond someone out of Brevard County Jail
BCSO publishes three practical routes: pay the full bond directly, satisfy a court-ordered purge when applicable, or use a licensed bail-bond agent of your choice.
Cashier’s check, certified check or money order must be payable to the Brevard County Clerk of Courts.
BCSO uses TouchPay for cash/credit bond transactions. The depositor needs the inmate’s full name and CID number.
You may choose a bonding agency. The Sheriff’s Office states that by law it cannot recommend a particular bail-bond company.
What is a purge?
BCSO uses the term purge for a delinquent court-ordered payment. The full purge amount can be paid by cashier’s check, certified check or money order payable to the Brevard County Clerk of Courts.

How to send money to a Brevard County inmate
Brevard County uses TouchPay for inmate commissary deposits. Deposits may be made online, over the phone or at the kiosk in the Jail Complex reception area.

Why an inmate may still not have all deposited funds available
- The account may already have a negative balance.
- Half of a new deposit may be applied to that negative balance.
- Smart Communications phone/messaging funds are different from the jail commissary account.
- Deposits should be made only after verifying the inmate and account information.

How long is scanned mail retained?
BCSO says mailed copies and pictures are scanned into the electronic system and the original material is destroyed after processing. The Sheriff’s current mail instructions state these materials are destroyed after 30 days.
Mail that can be rejected or seized
No photos depicting gang symbols/signs, nudity or lewd behavior.
No codes, blackmail, extortion, contraband, threats or information concerning another inmate.
No criminal plans, maps or escape plots.
No content intended to encourage jail strikes, riots, fights, racial/religious hatred or prohibited disruption.
Publications that adversely affect jail security or safety may be rejected.
BCSO prohibits inmate-to-inmate correspondence within the facility or routed through outside channels.

Can you bring clothes, shoes or other items to an inmate?
Generally no. BCSO says the only items that may be received at the jail are those ordered by a judge for court proceedings. Other items are considered case by case depending on necessity.
Medical, mental-health and family emergency help
BCSO says its contracted medical provider supplies 24-hour medical coverage.
Use for jail mental-health questions.
Dial 911 for an outside emergency. Routine jail-contact forms are not monitored 24 hours a day.
BCSO states that the jail medical provider has a Medical Doctor and Physician Assistant on duty and/or on call for emergency situations.
Death or serious illness in the inmate’s immediate family
Contact the jail officer in charge or the Chaplain at 321-690-1530. The Chaplain verifies emergency information and may accompany staff when the news is given to the inmate.

Warrant search when the person is not in jail
If you believe a warrant exists but the person does not appear in the jail database, do not assume that the warrant has been served. BCSO directs warrant searches to Florida’s official public-access system.
