Weld County, CO Jail Inmate Search & Roster 2026

Weld County, Colorado · Booking, custody and jail-help guide

Weld County Booking Lookup: Find Arrests, Current Custody, Bond and Release Status

Weld County does not use one simple static “current inmate roster” page. The Sheriff separates the process into a searchable Daily Arrest Report, Colorado VINE for current custody, and a Daily Inmate Released Report for people who have left the jail.

This guide shows exactly which tool to use, how to verify the correct person, how to read booking and bond fields, what to do when no result appears, and what families need for bond, visits, video calls, money, commissary, mail, court dates, medical concerns, release and transfers.

Important: A Weld County arrest record means the person was recorded as booked into the Weld County Jail; it does not mean the person was convicted. Current custody can change after bond, court, transfer or release. Verify identity with the booking number, date of birth and arrest details before taking action.

Start with the right tool

Weld County inmate search is a three-part process

This is the most important thing to understand before searching. “Arrested,” “currently in custody,” and “released” are three different questions.

1
Was the person booked?

Use the Daily Arrest Report. Search by first name, last name or arrest date.

2
Are they still in custody?

Open the custody-status option from the arrest record. Weld County routes current Colorado custody status through VINE.

3
Were they released?

Use the Daily Inmate Released Report, which can be searched by release date, first name or last name.

Fastest route: Find the booking in the arrest report, copy the booking number, then use the custody-status link before assuming the person is still housed at the Weld County Jail.

How to read a Weld County arrest and custody record

Weld County booking-result fields explained
Field What it tells you What you should do with it
Arrested date When the person was recorded as arrested/booked. Compare it with the known incident date and distinguish current from older bookings.
Arresting agency The police or law-enforcement agency associated with the arrest. Use it when troubleshooting a very recent arrest or requesting an agency report.
Booking number The identifier assigned to that Weld County jail booking. Save it for jail calls, custody verification and release research.
DOB Date of birth recorded for the person. Use it to separate people who have similar names.
Charge The allegation recorded for that booking. Check the Colorado court docket for later case status and hearings.
Bail amount The bond amount associated with a particular charge or case entry. Do not pay until you verify every bond line and any holds.
Bond type May identify cash, surety, PR/personal recognizance, resolved or other status. Use the bond type to determine whether payment, a bondsperson or court action is needed.
Bond clearance May explain how that bond was resolved, such as PR bond, surety bond, transport or release to pretrial supervision. Do not assume physical release until current custody is confirmed.
One booking can have several bond entries: A $500 bond on one charge does not necessarily mean $500 will release the person. Another charge may have a separate amount, cash-only requirement, no-bond status or outside hold.

Arrest report vs current custody vs release report

Question Correct source Coverage
Was this person booked into Weld County Jail? Daily Arrest Report Arrests beginning February 14, 2006 through the previous day.

When did the person leave Weld County Jail? Daily Inmate Released Report Weld County releases beginning June 17, 2022.

What is happening in the court case? Colorado Judicial Branch docket Court hearings and docket information rather than jail custody.
Troubleshooting

No Weld County inmate record found? Follow this decision path

The arrest happened today The Daily Arrest Report is not a second-by-second intake screen. It covers arrests through the previous day, so a very recent booking may not appear yet.
The name may be different Search the last name only, then try a maiden name, hyphenated variation, alternate spelling or suffix.
The person may already be out Search the Daily Inmate Released Report by first name, last name or expected release date.
The person may be elsewhere VINE can help check current Colorado custody beyond Weld County. A transfer can make an old arrest record look current when the person has moved.
The person may have only a warrant A warrant is not the same as a booking. Use the Weld County Warrant Search if you are trying to determine whether a warrant exists.
You have a court case but no inmate Search the Colorado Judicial Branch docket. The person may be out on bond, released, summonsed or connected with an older case.
Useful call script “I am trying to verify the custody status of [full legal name], date of birth [DOB]. The arrest may have occurred on [date] through [agency]. I have booking number [number, if known]. Can you tell me whether the person is still at the Weld County Jail, has been released, or was transferred?”
Do not pay someone just because they claim the inmate needs bond money: Verify the booking and bond with the official report or Weld County Bond Desk before sending money.

What happens after someone is booked into Weld County Jail?

Immediate observation and screening New prisoners are questioned and observed to identify urgent medical or mental-health needs.
Initial telephone access Weld County says a telephone call is allowed as soon as possible unless the prisoner is violent.
Nursing review A nurse speaks with the new prisoner to identify prescriptions, medical problems and whether a doctor may be needed.
Mental-health screening A counselor checks for self-harm risk and other mental-health concerns.
Classification if custody continues Prisoners who do not leave within approximately 24 hours are classified. Current charges, history, behavior and other factors help determine housing.
Housing, court, bond or transfer The person may remain in a pod, attend court, post bond, enter pretrial supervision, transfer to another agency or eventually be released.
Safety concern: Weld County specifically tells inmates who are afraid of another person to notify jail staff. Families with credible safety or medical information should call the jail rather than attempting to pass the information through ordinary inmate messages.

Bond and release

Weld County bond types, payment methods and release rights

Weld County describes cash and surety bonds as two common bond types. The exact bond displayed on a booking record controls what option is available.

Cash bond

Cash bonds may be posted using the methods Weld County currently permits, including cash and qualifying cashier’s check or money order.

Surety bond

A third-party bondsperson posts the bond. The bondsperson charges a fee; that commercial fee is generally non-refundable.

PR bond

Personal-recognizance release does not require the same cash payment as a money bond but can carry court and pretrial conditions.

Before you post any bond

Verify the correct person Match the booking number and date of birth, not just the name.
Read every charge line Confirm whether another charge has a separate bond, no-bond status or hold.
Confirm the full bond amount Online credit-card bonding requires the inmate’s name, date of birth, case number and full bond amount.
Use only the authorized bond route Weld County now permits qualifying bonds to be posted through its authorized electronic bond provider.
Keep the bond paperwork A person posting money bond has the right to a copy of the paperwork, including documentation for the next upcoming court date.
Confirm physical release separately Do not treat “bond posted” as “person is outside the jail.” Processing or legally permitted extraordinary circumstances can delay release.

Colorado money-bond rights published by Weld County

Important rights when money bond is posted
Rule What Weld County publishes Why it matters
Release amount Booking fees, debts and other fees do not have to be paid to secure release on money bond. The bond amount—not unrelated debts—is what secures release.
Bond fee $10 bond fee may be charged as a debt after release. It cannot be used as a reason to keep the defendant in jail.
Card fee Maximum 3.5% credit-card payment fee under the published rights notice. Compare the final payment screen with the official rule.
Who receives payment Bond is made out to the holding county, not to the incarcerated person. A request to pay bond directly to an inmate is a red flag.
Release timing The Sheriff generally must release within six hours after the statutory conditions are met unless extraordinary circumstances exist. If the delay exceeds six hours, the defendant or payer may ask what extraordinary circumstance is causing it.
Electronic monitor A defendant may be held up to 24 hours when necessary to fit required electronic monitoring. This is one published exception to immediate post-bond release.
Bond paperwork The payer has the right to receive the bond paperwork and upcoming court-date documentation. Keep it for court and refund questions.
Never send a bond payment to the inmate: Weld County’s published rights notice says bond payments are made to the holding county, not in the incarcerated person’s name.

How to check Weld County Jail release status

Weld County maintains a separate searchable Daily Inmate Released Report. It covers releases beginning June 17, 2022 and can be searched by release date, first name or last name.

What the release report can show

Arrest date
Release date and time
Date of birth
Booking number
Listed charges
Bail amount
Bond type
Bond clearance or release reason

Common bond-clearance wording

PR bond

Release occurred through personal-recognizance or related court bond action.

Surety bond

A surety/bondsperson route was used.

Release to pretrial supervision

The defendant may have reporting or supervision requirements after leaving jail.

Time served

The release relates to completion of the custody time associated with that matter.

Transport

The person may have left Weld County Jail but remained in government custody elsewhere.

Sentenced and released

The report indicates a release associated with case disposition or sentence completion.

“Released from Weld County Jail” does not always mean “free from custody.” A release record showing transport can mean the person moved to another jail, prison or agency.

Released to Weld County Pretrial Services? What happens next

When a court orders pretrial supervision as a condition of bond or summons, the defendant must report to Weld County Pretrial Services and complete intake.

Report after release If ordered to pretrial supervision, report in person to Pretrial Services upon release or as otherwise directed by the court.
Weekend or after-hours release If released outside business hours or on a weekend, Weld County says to report on the next business day.
Bring paperwork and photo ID Bring the bond or summons paperwork plus picture identification.
Complete a supervision agreement A Pretrial Specialist reviews the court’s terms and conditions and completes the intake.
Do not miss reporting Failure to report as directed may result in a warrant.

Use the inmate request/grievance process The inmate should submit the issue through the jail’s internal procedure.
Describe the problem clearly Include dates, location, people involved and the specific resolution being requested.
Use specialized reporting when appropriate ADA and PREA complaints have dedicated handling and coordinator involvement.
Outside families should call the correct unit Serious medical information should go to the medical unit; emergencies should not be sent as routine inmate messages.

Weld County’s warrant tool can search by first name, last name, city, ZIP code, bail amount, warrant date, crime level, charge wording and jurisdiction.

No-result warning: Weld County explicitly states that not finding a warrant in its automated search does not prove that no warrant exists. Municipal, federal or other-agency warrants may not appear, and some warrants may not yet be in the automated system.

Weld County jail-search tips that prevent common mistakes

Yesterday vs today matters

The arrest report runs through the previous day’s arrests. A same-day arrest may require a phone call before the public report catches up.

Use VINE after the arrest report

A historical booking can still appear after the person is released. Check current custody instead of assuming the arrest page is a live roster.

Save the booking number

It is the cleanest way to separate people with similar names and keep jail calls organized.

Check every bond line

One case may be releasable while another remains no-bond or subject to a hold.

Personal mail goes to Maryland

Ordinary letters and pictures use the Phoenix, Maryland scanning address—not the jail’s Greeley street address.

Legal mail stays in Greeley

Attorney mail and certain approved financial/notarization documents go to 2110 O Street.

On-site Sunday is not available

Families who can visit only on Sunday should use the remote-visit option.

Do not drive during remote video

Weld County specifically lists driving during a remote visit as cause for immediate termination.

Keep deposit receipts

Access Corrections support asks for the receipt when researching a kiosk, phone or online deposit issue.
